As the semester closes I have chosen to close this blog as well. Although it has been interesting, and certainly informative, I don't think I've got the time to really continue it. I feel like I've investigated a range of topics that I probably never would have been exposed to, and learned a plethora of facts that, if I brought them up to friends, would probably think I was ridiculous for knowing.
I've found that writing a few blogs a week really has the ability to improve me as a writer, more than I think I would have learned from writing a few papers. It has also been easier to fit in considering it's informal and I can write about whatever I choose. Plenty of things in my everyday life could spark an idea, I hardly ever looked up topics.
On top of everything though I learned a lot about other things. Reading other peoples blogs has been eye opening technologically and emotionally, and has allowed me to learn about things I would have never read about otherwise. Cars, fishing, television production...things that, although I remain uninterested, have helped me become more well rounded.
All in all, I sadly close this blog.

I had fun reading your blog this semester. You chose food as a topic, but you put a spin on it with comedy. It was very easy to respond to your blogs because they were funny, yet informative. You expanded my knowledge on the important things in life... like solar cooking, hot dogs, and the grotesque eating rituals of certain cultures. Looking back I'm glad to have learned that information. However, I have no earthly idea what the heck I'm ever gonna use it for :)
ReplyDeleteYour blog has definitely been one of my favorites to read. Food was a great topic to blog about because really, who doesn't like food? You covered the good, the bad, and the ugly of food and every entry was very informative and fun to read. Thanks for sharing your knowledge of food, and I'm sad to see your blog close :(
ReplyDeleteFood was a great topic for you to choose. You seem to be very passionate and knowledgeable about it. I am pretty sure we even once had a twenty minute conversation about the awesomeness of a grilled cheese maker. However, most days your blog was so entertaining it left me hungry for more, ha. Too bad there won't be another post, but I guess you are just leaving your readers with an unsatisfied appetite.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed you blog, infact I found myself visiting your blog more than others. I thought your topic was very interesting, me being a food lover myslef. I also liked the topics of your articles they were interesting and increased my knowledge about exoctic foods. I am sad to see you close your blog because I thought you did a great job.
